3. Anopamā
4. I was born into an eminent family,
5. affluent and wealthy,
6. endowed with a beautiful complexion and figure;
7. Majjha’s true-born daughter.
8. I was sought by princes,
9. coveted by sons of the wealthy.
10. One sent a messenger to my father:
11. “Give me Anopamā!
12. However much your daughter
13. Anopamā weighs,
14. I’ll give you eight times that
15. in gold coin and gems.”
16. When I saw the Awakened One,
17. the world’s Elder, unsurpassed,
18. I paid homage at his feet,
19. and withdrew to one side.
20. Out of compassion,
21. Gotama taught me the Dhamma.
22. While sitting in that seat,
23. I realized the third fruit.
24. Then, having shaved off my hair,
25. I went forth to homelessness.
26. This is the seventh day
27. since my craving dried up.
